About Victra

Victra is a wonderful representation of the Eurasier breed both in temperament and in structure.

Temperment

Victra is a happy, playful, and tolerant pup. She has never met a dog she didn’t like, and while she retains the typical Eurasier trait of being aloof to strangers, if you let her approach you and engage in play, she’ll happily participate and engage. She is smart but not clever, so she picks up on patterns and concepts quickly, but not to the extent that she’ll outfox you or cause mischief. She does, however, occasionally pull a “Spitz” and choose to ignore, despite knowing exactly what you are asking for.

Victra has been an incredibly easy (and easy-going) dog from the moment we brought her home three years ago. She slept through her very first night in a new home, and rarely woke us in the middle of the night. She was practically potty-trained at eight weeks and had minimal accidents in the house. As an adult, she’s perfectly content laying around the house while her human works from home, though she does love her routines and eagerly awaits her daily walks. She respects boundaries and doesn’t eat what she’s not supposed to or go where she’s not supposed to.

Victra is strongly bonded to her family and loves being near her people. As a young puppy, she didn’t have time for snuggles and cuddles, but as she’s matured, she’s realized that humans give really great butt and neck scritches. She’ll sit right in front of you when she wants her butt scratched, giving you a baleful look if you stop before she’s had enough.

Her adaptability is her most impressive trait - she has moved with us at least four different times, and has travelled coast to coast with us in a campervan full-time for 8 months. Through it all, she has been the same happy-go-lucky pup, excited to go on any adventure we take her on. Though there are times when she may be uncomfortable or wary of certain things, she trusts her people to keep her safe, and will gamely try new experiences regardless.

Some of these experiences include various dog sports such as Conformation, Agility, Tracking and Obedience. Though our frequent moves has impacted our ability to find consistent classes and instruction, Victra managed to finish her Canadian Championship in April 2022 and has also achieved her Novice Sprinter title. We are actively working on Agility, Tracking and Competition Obedience performance titles.

We could continue writing for pages about what a wonderful dog Victra is but we hope that this description gives you a glimpse as to why we are choosing to breed Victra, as her personality and temperament will undoubtedly continue to improve the Eurasier breed as being a perfect companion dog.

Structure

From a physical perspective, Victra's head and expression are her strongest assets. While her eyes are a little on the lighter side, her head matches the remainder of the description for the head in the breed standard well.

The main improvements we would be seeking in future generations would be to level out the topline, increase the angulation in her rear, and deepen the chest. She is also fairly fine-boned, so ideally we would pair her with a sturdier male.
